The reason is simple. Even the best plated jewelry hates these things. The plated layer of gold gets thinner and thinner with time and exposure to these elements. Take good care of it and your necklace will last.
STAINLESS STEEL
If you own the stainless steel bracelet, you don’t have to be afraid of elements like water and sweat. 316L Stainless Steel will never fade, tarnish, or turn skin green, even when worn in the ocean or pool. It’s also hypoallergenic, so you don’t have to worry about any breakouts or rashes. Frankly, it’s the perfect option for fine durable jewelry.
With that said, keep in mind to still handle your bracelet with care when you take it off before any activity where you could break or damage it.
